Masahiro Seki D.V.M: Owner

Dr. Seki was born and raised in Japan. Dr. Seki is the owner of Happy Life Animal Hospital and of the Animal Laser Center, located in Nagoya, Japan. Dr. Seki has a wonderful family with a wife, two children, and 1 guinea pig. Dr. Seki completed his D.V.M. at the Rakuno Gakuen University for Veterinary Medicine. He has had experience in veterinary medicine at animal hospitals in Yokohama and Nagoya, Japan and experience in small animal surgery at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Seki is board certified in laser surgery from the American Board of Laser Surgery. His professional practice includes small animal laser surgery with CO2 lasers and laser therapy for small animals with Diode lasers. Dr. Seki is a director of education & development in Japan for the American Board of Laser Surgery, and is the director of the Japan Laser Veterinary Science Society.  He spends most of his free time reading books but also likes meditating, and traveling to various places. His hope is that everyone lives a happy life with animals.

Kailee: Office Manager

Kailee was born and raised in Connecticut and moved to Florida in 2016. Kailee is married with furkids, including two cats, two dogs, and a snake. In 2011, Kailee graduated from Northwestern CT Community College with an Associate in Science Degree for Veterinary Technology and obtained her certification for Veterinary Technology. Kailee started work in the animal health industry at Pfizer, and started her career as a veterinary technician in 2013.  She spends most of her free time cross stitching but also enjoys swimming, reading, and playing video games. Kailee’s love of animals started early, and her first job was working at a nature center to help care for injured and surrendered wildlife.

Brandy: Veterinary Technician & Receptionist 

Brandy was born and raised in Botetourt, VA and moved here in 2014. Brandy is married, has a human son named Koda, and three fur kids.  Brandy started in our office when we were Sugar Sands in 2015 and made the transition over to Happy Life Animal Hospital when it changed ownership. Brandy previously worked at Banfield in VA for over a year before moving here. She is also planning on going back to school to obtain her license in Veterinary Technology. Brandy’s love for animal started early in life at 15 years old when she rescued two abused Pit Bulls that had chains embedded into their necks.  From that point on Brandy knew she wanted to be in the veterinary field. In Brandy’s spare time she likes to spend it with her family, enjoying the sights around Florida and sun bathing on the beach.

Veronica: Veterinary Assistant

Veronica is our newest addition and the sweetest gal you’ll ever meet.  She was born in Daytona, FL and was raised in Palm Coast.  Veronica just graduated from high school, and has aspirations of becoming a veterinarian.  Her experience with animals didn’t start with Happy Life, she has been caring for animals from an early age. Recently she has been volunteering at the Marine Science Center Bird Rehabilitation and Turtle Hospital, where she cares for all types of injured or ill animals.  Veronica’s interests include herping, caring for and rescuing animals, skateboarding, and snorkeling. Veronica has too many animals to name here but her gang of over 30 animals includes cats, dogs, rats, frogs, a tarantula, a Quaker parrot, a salamander, a puffer fish, a gecko, various species of lizards and snakes, and a scorpion.  Her love of animals is like her love of life, ever-changing and endless.

Darien: Veterinary Assistant

Darien is our newest addition, and is one of the gentlest guys you’ll ever meet.  He was born and raised in Florida.  Darien previously worked as a culinary artist, but joined our team because of his passion to help animals feel better.  He is also our technical specialist and keeps our computers running.  Darien is happily married and has one fur kid named Pheobe (his “pocket beagle”).  In his spare time he enjoys reading, playing video games, and cooking for friends and family.  Darien’s love for helping animals get better so that they can enjoy life is one of his greatest assets.
